West Indies v Sri Lanka, 5th ODI, Port of Spain

Dwayne Bravo Suspend for Sri Lanka Game

Port of Spain: West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo has been suspended for one match after his side was fined for a second minor over-rate offence within 12 months during their tri-series ODI against India.

The West Indies side was ruled to be one over short of its target at the end of last night's match when time allowances were taken into consideration.

As such, ICC elite panel match referee Jeff Crowe imposed a 20-per-cent fine on Bravo, while each of his players received 10-per-cent fines.

As this was West Indies' second minor over-rate offence within 12 months, after it was fined for a slow over-rate in Cardiff against South Africa on June 14 during the ICC Champions Trophy, Bravo has also been suspended from the Caribbean outfit's next game against Sri Lanka here on Sunday.

The offence is contrary to Article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to over-rate offences.
