Binny, Pujara Dominates on Day 2

Derby: The Indians declared reached 341 for 6 at stump on day of their second warm-up game against Derbyshrie with Stuart Binny (81*) and Ajinkya Rahane (13*) at the stump.

The second session saw the Indians scoring 141 runs for the loss of three wickets. In final session Indian batsmen scores 124 runs.

Cheteshwara Pujara scored the bulk of the runs in the second session after lunch eventually retiring out for 81. He, along with Virat Kohli, had steadied the innings after the early wickets of the openers in the first session. Kohli though could continue much further and got out for 36 to Ben Cotton.

MS Dhoni then joined forces with Pujara scoring 56-ball for 46 before getting bowled by David Wainwright.

After racking up 326/5, Derbyshire had declared their innings overnight sending in the Indians to bat on day two at Derby and the county side reaped immediate rewards by sending back both the openers, Murali (6) Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan (6) cheaply. The Indians eventually reached 76 for 2 at lunch with Cheteshwara Pujara (20*) and Virat Kohli (36*) in the middle.

Vijay was the first to go when he was adjudged leg before wicket to right-arm medium-fast bowler Mark Turner. Vijay consumed 28 deliveries for his six runs and hit only one boundary. He had got out for 20 in the first warm-up game against Leiscestershire. Dhawan departed four balls later when he was caught behind for six off 20-year-old Ben Cotton.

Pujara, who came to bat at number three, and Kohli then steadied the innings with 58-run stand. Kohli was the more aggressive of the duo hitting five boundaries in his 86-ball knock.
