Mominul Shines in Slow Opening Day

Khulna: A 95-run third-wicket stand between Mominul Haque (80) and Mahmudullah (49) helped Bangladesh to reach 236/4 in opening day of first Test against Pakistan in Khulna on Tuesday.

Mominul Haque was trapped leg-before by Zulfiqar Babar off the penultimate ball of the day for 80, leaving Shakib Al Hasan unbeaten on 19 at the Sheikh Abu Naser stadium.

Bangladesh lost openers Tamim Iqbal (25) and Imrul Kayes (51) either side of lunch before Mohammad Mahmudullah (49) and Mominul added 95 for the third wicket.

Tamim was caught at short-leg off Yasir Shah before lunch while Kayes gave Mohammad Hafeez a return catch soon after reaching his half-century.
