Ex-Australia Test cricketer Lindsay Kline passes away at 81

Melbourne: Former Australian Test cricketer Lindsay Kline, who is famously known for facing the final ball of the sports first tied match against the West Indies in 1960, has passed away at the age of 81.

The Left-arm chinaman bowler was the 207th player to wear the baggy green and had taken 34 wickets at an average of 22.82 in 13 Tests.

Expressing condolences, Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said that the news of Lindsay's passing was incredibly sad and that he would be missed dearly, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Describing Kline as a 'great character' and a 'fine contributor to the game', Sutherland said that he was involved in some extraordinary moments that have become part of the rich history of their great game.

Kline achieved his biggest milestone in his second Test when he became the sixth Australian to take a hat-trick against South Africa.
