Match abandoned After Rahmat's ton, Najib's blitz

Edinburgh: Scotland's one-day international against Afghanistan was abandoned after the visitors hit 283-4 before play was ended by rain.

The match between sides, who will meet again at the Grange on Wednesday, was forced off without the Scots batting.

Rahmat Shah reached 100 not out, while Dawlet Zadran was also unbeaten on 89 by the time play was ended.

Brad Wheal was Scotland's most productive bowler, taking two wickets for the loss of 51 runs.

With Scotland 13th in the world, they were hoping for vital ranking points against the team three places above.
