India Host Historic Bangladesh Test in February 2017

Mumbai: India will play a historic one-off Test match against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad from February 8, 2017 -- the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Wednesday.

This will be the first time Bangladesh will visit India to play in the longest format of the cricket, 17 years since gaining their Test status in 2000.

Bangladesh have played just four matches against India in India so far since 1991 - three One-Day Internationals (one in 1991 and two in 1998) and an ICC World Twenty20 game earlier this year in March.

In all, India's 2016-17 home season will include 13 Tests, eight ODIs and three T20Is, 13 Tests equals the world record for the highest number of Tests in a home season. Apart from Bangladesh, New Zealand, England and Australia will also visit during the season.

The one-off Test against Bangladesh will be played a week after the limited-overs series against England concludes in Bangalore on February 1.
