Amir left out, teenager Hasnain included for World Cup

Lahore: Pakistan left out experienced but out-of-form pacer Mohammad Aamir from its 15-member World Cup squad while including teenage fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain in the line-up.

Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the squad and revealed Amir was been left out of Pakistan’s world cup squad but has been included in their squad for their pre-tournament series against England.

"We are hopeful and confident that Pakistan will give a good account of itself in the World Cup," Inzamam said. Senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez has also been included in the team after recovering from a thumb injury. "Doctors have advised him not to bowl or bat now but when his rehab is over he will be back in action in two weeks time," Inzamam explained.

Sarfaraz Ahmed (c), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-Ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Shoaib Malik, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Hassan Ali, Abid Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Sohail.
