Australia v Pakistan, T20, Melbourne

Australia Won A Low Scoring T20 Thriller

Melbourne: A low-scoring thriller on a pacy wicket! And in the end, Australia complete a fabulous 2-runs victory to leave Pakistan win-less on their tour Down Under.

Pakistan were the firm favourites considering their T20 record and more so, after they restricted Australia to a paltry 127. That total just proved to be enough as the top-class Aussie bowlers sealed a superb win to end the summer tour on a fantastic high - series wins in all the three formats - Tests (3-0), ODIs (5-0) and the one-off T20.

Tait (3-13) was the chief destroyer with his express pace and line, Nannes and Johnson bowled a couple of fine economical overs, Smith scalped a couple of vital wickets while Watson finished the job for his side. Kamran Akmal (64) played a fine cameo to give his side every possible chance of winning the game.

Umar Akmal (21) couldn't obtain strike in the final overs which proved them costly. All-in-all, a fantastic game and a deserving win for the home side. Shaun Tait has been awarded the Man of the Match for his efforts with the ball in this low scoring encounter.

Earlier, Pakistan showed complete dominance in that first innings to bowl out Australia for mere 127 in 18.4 overs. The wicket had some pace and bounce which assisted the Pakistani seamers, making batting a touch difficult.

Warner (24) and Clarke (32) were going well for the second wicket but some tidy bowling and exceptional fielding by the Pakistan side did not allow them to go further. David Hussey (40*) was the only other Aussie batsman to reach the double figure mark. He was left stranded at the other end with his side getting bowled out.

Umar Gul (3-20), as seen in the T20Is, was once again at his best while there were three brilliant run outs and a stumping as well for Pakistan.
