Bangladesh beat New Zealand by 7 wickets in first One-dayer with 27 balls remaining here on Thursday. Superb batting by opener Junaid Siddique 85 (139b 8x4 0x6) and 109 runs partnership with Mohammad Ashraful unbeaten 60 (56b 5x4 1x6) led first one-day win against New Zealand. Before this match Newzealand won all 11 matches against Bangladesh.

In morning Bangladesh skipper won the toss and call Vettori for batting. His fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza (4-44) and spinner Abdur Razzak (3-32) dominated to restrict New Zealand to 201-9 in the first one-day international here on Thursday.

One stage New Zealand 79 for six, and Jacob Oram top-scored with a solid 57 and added 70 runs for the seventh wicket with skipper Daniel Vettori (30) but that was not enough for New Zealand to avoid their lowest one-day total against Bangladesh. Their previous lowest total against Bangladesh was 224 at Chittagong in 2004.

Jesse Ryder (34) and Brendon McCullum (14) gave New Zealand a solid start before Mortaza struck in the ninth over.

McCullum, known for his big hitting, slashed at a wide delivery and was caught by Syed Rasel at third man. McCullum's fall opened the gates for the home team as they grabbed five more wickets in the space of just 32 runs.
