Fielding Cost Us The Match - Tendulkar

Durban: Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar  on Tuesday blamed the fielders for his side's defeat against South Australia in the Champions League and said now it would take something "special" from them to bring their campaign back on track in the tournament.

Mumbai Indians put up a pathetic bowling and fielding performance as they could not grab the opportunities and eventually failed to defend a challenging 180, which has pushed them to the brink of elimination.

"To get to 180 was an excellent job by the batsmen. It was the fielding that cost us the game. We needed to keep getting wickets at regular intervals and we had our opportunities but we couldn't quite do it," Tendulkar said after the match.

"Throughout it was 10-11 runs an over and we were very much in the game. We have to pick up our performance and it's important that we produce something special," he added.

Man-of-the-Match Daniel Harris, who smashed a 37-ball 56 to script a dramatic run chase along with skipper Michael Klinger (50) after being dropped twice, admitted that luck was by their side.

"We felt they bowled well early. It was about having wickets in the shed and we had some luck. Mumbai hit their lengths, we were facing Malinga for the first time but we got away with a bit of luck," he said.

"We knew we were on track and the guys at the end played extremely well under pressure and did the business for us," he added.
