India Clinch Series With Innings Win, Despite Bravo Ton

Kolkata: West Indies were bowled out for 463, losing by an innings and 15 runs. Darren Bravo (136) batted well, while Yadav (4-80) led the wickets tally for India fourth day of the second Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday.

Following-on, the West Indies were dismissed for 463 runs in their second innings.

Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha and R Ashwin took two wickets each as India took a 2-0 lead in the 3-Test series.

Ojha and Ashwin dismissed Darren Bravo (136) and Marlon Samuels (84) in quick succession.

Samuels hit a six and 13 fours in his knock before falling plumb in front of the wicket to Ashwin.

Pragyan Ojha gave India a much-needed breakthrough when he had Darren Bravo (136) caught by Rahul Dravid at first slip.

Dravid then took a superb one-handed catch at first slip to dismiss Carlton Baugh off Ojha.

Bravo hit 4 sixes and 16 fours in his knock and added 132 runs for the fifth wicket with Marlon Samuels before falling to an arm ball just after taking the West Indies over the 400-run mark.

Bravo's century was the hundredth ton by a West Indian batsman against India.

Samuels rubbed salt into Indian wounds by notching up his 12th half-century.

With their partnership, Bravo and Samuels registered the West Indies' third-highest second innings total against India.

Following-on, Bravo and Samuels took the West Indies to 339/4 at lunch, just 139 runs behind the Indian total.

Samuels looked nervous at the start of his innings but pulled it back well.

The Indian spinners were ineffective in the first session as batting superbly under huge pressure, Bravo notched up his second Test century.

Bravo reached the milestone with the help of 4 sixes and 10 fours.

This is the tenth century by a West Indian batsman while following-on.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul (47) added 108 runs with Bravo for the fourth wicket before edging a Umesh Yadav delivery onto the stumps.

The day's play started with Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul resuming the West Indies second innings.
