Ishant Sharma Moves Up in ICC Rankings

Dubai: Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson's 12 wickets in the series against South Africa so far has pushed him one rung to share the second spot with South Africa's Dale Steyn even as India's Ishant Sharma gained two places to be in the top-20 in the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers.

Among the batsmen, West Indies middle-order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul reclaimed the number one spot from Pakistan's Younis Khan.

India's Gautam Gambhir remain stationed at ninth while opening partner Virender Sehwag dropped one spot to 12th and Sachin Tendulkar slipped another rung to share the 18th place.

Sri Lanka spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan leads the bowling charts while India's Harbhajan remained constant at sixth and Zaheer Khan at 12th.

In the team rankings, England slipped one spot to sixth after their defeat to the West Indies who stayed at seventh.

India remain third and a series whitewash for Australia could see South Africa slipping and MS Dhoni's team moving to second place. Complete Rating
