No DRS for Bangladesh-West Indies Series

Dhaka: The controversial Decision Review System (DRS) will not be used during the West Indies' tour this month, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said.

BCB media chairman Jalal Yunus said official broadcasters Nimbus Communications could not fulfil the requirements for the technology to be utilised.

"It would be difficult to use DRS, given our agreement with Nimbus," the Daily Star quoted Yunus as saying.

"The replays for DRS won't be clear. We have consulted with the ICC (International Cricket Council) and they have also agreed with the issue," he added.

The BCB had mulled over using the DRS based on the minimum standards. However, Nimbus could only meet three of the five requirements - slow motion, super slow motion and audio vision on stumps.

Hot Spot and ultra slow motion are the other two requirements for the minimum standard.

A similar situation occurred recently when Sri Lanka hosted Australia but the DRS was still used, the Daily Star said.

West Indies face Bangladesh in two Tests, three one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international starting October 11.
