Sri Lanka Beat Pakistan By 234-runs, Seal Series

Lahore: Sri Lanka win by 234 runs with Pakistan being bundled out for the lowest total at the Gadaffi stadium. Pakistan didn't have much of a chance once they were reduced to 22/6, thanks to some brilliant bowling from Kulasekara and Thushara. Gul entertained the crowd with some lusty blows before Muralitharan reached 500 ODI wickets.

Today is the win was set up by Dilshan, who notched up his highest ODI score and along with Jayasuriya ensured they were no hiccups early on with the ball doing a fair bit. After being thumped in the first match, Sri Lanka have come back strongly to clinch the series 2-1 with some emphatic victories.

Sri Lanka inflicted one of the biggest annihilation in one-day internationals and trampled over Pakistan to post a 234-run win. Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka piled up 309 for five before unleashing their bowlers who skittles out Pakistan for a meagre 75 in just 22.5 overs to inflict on the hosts a humiliating defeat in the all-important series decider.

Dilshan's 139-ball 137, studded with 10 fours, turned out to be the bedrock of the Lankan innings even though Sanath Jayasuriya (45), Kumar Sangakkara (50) and Thilina Kandamby (32) also came up with useful contributions.

Sri Lanka will return to Pakistan for a 2-Test series but not before they play 5 ODIs against India at home. Do join us for that.

Brief Score: Sri Lanka 309 for 5 (Dilshan 137*, Sangakkara 50, Jayasuriya 45) beat Pakistan 75 (Kulasekara 3-17, Thushara 3-33) 75 by 234 runs.
