Trott & Finn Stars as England Complete Win

London England have won the first Test match by 8 wickets. Chasing 160 runs for victory, they got off to a flier and finishes the game before the Tea break. Skipper Andrew Strauss (82) struck another half-century in this Test match and Jonathan Trott followed his 226 runs in the first innings with an unbeaten 36 runs.

Bangladesh bowling was poor in the second innings, specially the seamers who struggled to find their line and length and also went for plenty in the initial overs. The youngster Steven Finn bagged the Man-of-the-match trophy for his fabulous bowling effort.

After been put into bat under overcast conditions, England piled up a mammoth 1st innings total of 505. Jonathan Trott (226) stroked a glorious double ton, his first in Test cricket. He was well supported by skipper Andrew Strauss (83) as heshared a 181-run stand with him.

Debutant Eoin Morgan (44) was also involved in a 112-runs partnership with Jonathan Trott. Shahadat Hossain was brilliant with the ball as he claimed hismaiden 5-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Replying to a big target, Bangladesh got off to a good startas Tamim Iqbal (55) and Imrul Kayes (43) added 88 runs for the 1st wicket. But after that the innings collapsed and they were bundled out for 282 runs. Zunaed Siddique (58) played a gutsy knock. James Anderson and Steven Finn claimed 4 wickets each.

Following-on, as they trail by 223 runs, the visitors once again got off to a flying start as Tamim Iqbal (103) and Imrul Kayes (75) put on 185 runs for the 1st wicket. Tamim Iqbal played majestically and scored the fastest century for his country off 94 balls. Zunaed Siddique (74) and Jahurul Islam (46) continued the good work, but once Jahurul Islam departed they suffered yet another collapse as they were all out for 382 runs, setting England a target of 160 runs to win.

Steven Finn claimed his maiden 5-wicket haul and returned with the figures of 9-187 in the match. To sum it all up, England will be overwhelmed with the outcome of this Test match. When Shakib Al Hassan decided to put the home side to bat it was mainly because he thought his pace bowlers would gain assistance under the heavy cloud coveror probably it was also influenced by fears that his fragile batting line-up would be exposed bythe England pace attack.
