New Delhi: Team India, who are currently playing the ICC World Cup 2019 in England, are up for a grueling home season ahead.
The 2019-20 home season, which starts from September, would see India play five teams in a span of six months.
India are scheduled to start proceedings against South Africa, when they play three Tests and three T20Is.
The season would see India playing five Tests.
While three of those Tests would be played against South Africa, from October 2 till 23, it would be followed by a couple more against Bangladesh, from November 14 to 26.
These five Tests would be a part of India's campaign for the recently launched ICC Test Championship series.
Notably, India are number one Test side.
With just five Tests, India would mostly put their focus on the white-ball cricket, especially T20Is, keeping in mind the ICC World T20 2020 in Australia.
While the tournament would be played from October 2020, India would like to start their preparations a year early.
They are scheduled to play 12 T20Is, three each against South Africa, Bangladesh, Windies and Zimbabwe.
The five Tests will be a part of the ICC's new Test Championship.
