Chennai Super Kings v Victoria Bushrangers, CLT20 2010, Port Elizabeth

Bushrangers Stun Chennai in Super Over

Port Elizabeth: Chennai Super Kings-Victoria clash ended in a tie after the end of 20 overs and now both fight it out in the first Super over of the Champions League Twenty20.

Twenty20 was at its chaotic best - or worst, if you look at some of the shots played - in giving Champions League T20 its first Super Over, one that Victoria Bushrangers won emphatically.

With 24 required off the last three overs, and David Hussey entrenched on 48, it looked like a cruise for Victoria, but batsman after batsman played poor shots to give Suresh Raina four wickets in the 18th and 20th overs.

David Hussey left the job unfinished, holing out to long-off in the 19th over, but came back to finish it with three monstrous sixes in the Super Over, giving Chennai Super Kings a near-impossible target.

Earlier, Chennai have managed a decent 162/6 in their 20 overs. Vijay and Miachel Hussey (25) got off to an average start, they kept their wickets intact but the run rate wasn't too high.

The former stayed on and smashed 73 off 53 balls before departing. Dhoni promoted himself up the order but only managed 22 of 18. Kemp (12* off 7) scored some vital runs towards the end.

It was a fine bowling effort from the Victorians. Hastings (2/22) was the pick of the lot while McKay (2/33) also bagged a couple. Siddle bowled well upfront but was suspended from bowling towards the end.
