Ishant Sharma Scalps 100th Test Wicket

Bridetown: Speedster Ishant Sharma scalped his 100th Test wicket on the third day of the second cricket Test against the West Indies on Thursday.

Ishant scalped the wicket of West Indies captain Darren Sammy in the post-lunch session, his fourth wicket in the home side's first innings, to reach the milestone at the Kensington Oval.

Ishant, who achieved the milestone in his 33rd Test, became the third youngest Indian to have taken 100 wickets in Test cricket after Kapil Dev (21 years 25 days) and Harbhajan Singh (21 years 319 days).

The Delhi pacer, who made his Test debut in 2007 in Dhaka against Bangladesh, is 22 years 301 days today.

He is the 17th Indian bowler and 157th overall in Test annals to bag a century of wickets. He has an average of 34.02, economy rate of 3.41 and one five-wicket haul in an innings in his career so far.
