Rain Delays Start First England-Sri Lanka Test

Cardiff: Rain delayed the scheduled start of the first Test between England and Sri Lanka at Sophia Gardens on Thursday.

The umpires were due to hold an inspection at 10.30am local time (0930GMT), but when they go for inspection, a break in the rain! And all four umpires immediately march out to the middle to have a gander.

The players will take an early lunch from 12.00pm to 12.40pm, while tea will be taken at 3.40pm.

This is the first of a three-match series.
