Second Loss for Pakistan Senior T20 Team

Karachi: Pakistan's Twenty20 World Cup bound side lost their second consecutive practice match against Pakistan 'A' team in Lahore last night.

The senior side scored 160 for nine with half centuries from Kamran and Umar Akmal but the 'A' team finished with 163 for five with Ahmed Shehzad scoring a half century.

The senior team is playing five practice matches as part of its preparations for next month's Twenty20 World Cup.

Coach Waqar Younis said he was not unduly concerned with the defeat as some of the senior players like Salman Butt and Misbah-ul Haq played for the 'A' side.

"The purpose of these matches is to keep all the players energetic and to try our plans and combinations," he said.

Waqar has taken over as chief coach recently and the T20 World Cup will be his first assignment with the national team.
