Strauss Also Appointed ODI & T20 Captain

London: Andrew Strauss has been appointed as England's captain for the entire tour of the West Indies, 24 hours after being as the new Test captain. But, according to an ECB statement, his one-day captaincy will be reviewed at the end of the tour, leaving open the possibility that England could yet seek their fourth captain in 12 months should results not go to plan.

"Strauss hasn't played for a while but that's not to say he's not capable," England's national selector, Geoff Miller, told the BBC. "We've got to have the discussion, it's a difficult decision as there is no obvious case for who should be one-day captain."

In 78 ODIs to date, Strauss averages 31.98 with a strike-rate of 75.82 runs per hundred balls, which compares favourably to the record of his former captain, Michael Vaughan, who averaged 27.15 from 86 matches, with a strike-rate of 68.39.

Australian Tom Moody dead-batted suggestions linking him with the vacant England coaching position Friday, and said he doubts Shane Warne has time to commit to one of world cricket's most demanding jobs.

Andrew Strauss was Thursday confirmed as England's new Test captain after the exits of former skipper Kevin Pietersen and coach Peter Moores.
