India Bat First; Dinda, Bresnan Dropped

Kochi: India have won the toss and elected to bat first on a hot and humid day at Kochi on Tuesday. Both team made one change, in India Shami Ahmed replacing Dinda, while in England Chris Woakes replacing Tim Bresnan.

Dhoni: "It will slow down slightly. The reason being the climate also, it will test the fitness. The pitch looks very different, it won't have the same kind of bounce and the black soil has a tendency of slowing down." Shami Ahmed in for Ashok Dinda. No Cheteshwar Pujara yet. Probably they are saving him for the bowler-friendly conditions up north

Cook: "Incredible atmosphere here. This is the reason you want to play cricket, great crowds and great atmosphere." Forced change for England. Tim Bresnan has a niggle and is not playing today, Chris Woakes replace him.
