Mishra, de Kock guide Delhi to 8-wicket Win

New Delhi: Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson ensured that Delhi Daredevils (DD) gained a comfortable 8-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab chasing a low total of 112.

De Kock and Samson started off slowly went into to third gear once they had their eye settled in.

DD lost their first wicket of Shreyas Iyer at the score of just 9, where Iyer added just 3 runs. He was picked up by Sandeep Sharma who got him to nick one to the keeper.

De Kock went on to score his fifty in 38 balls hitting 8 fours and one six along the way. Samson on the other hand went on his merry ways  making 33 off 32 balls. Both batsmen constructed a partnership of 91 run which is also the highest for second wicket for DD

Samson in a attempt to score quick got out misses a simple ball by Akshar Patel, giving him his first wicket of the match.

Pawan Negi came into bat at No.4 made 8 runs from 2 balls hitting one six. De Kock remained not-out on 59* from 42 balls.

Best bowler for KXIP was Sandeep Sharma who gave just 6 runs in his 2 overs picking up one wicket. Mohit Sharma also bowled well giving 10 runs in his 2 overs. Mitchell Johnson went for runs giving away 28 runs in his 3 overs.

Earlier, Amit Mishra led the Delhi Daredevils bowling attack against a hapless Kings XI Punjab batting line up.

KXIP thanks to Manan Vohra managed to somehow get to a score of 111. Mishra picked up his first wicket of the match on his first ball of the his first over. Mishra got Shaun Marsh for just for just 13 runs.

Marsh who trying to play him over the covers missed the ball as Quinton de Kock swift glove work stumped him. Mishra's second wicket was KXIP skipper David Miller for just 9 runs.

Miller tried to sweep a straighter one from Mishra with the ball hitting him on the pads. Mishra picked up the dangerous Glenn Maxwell in the same over, who tried to loft him over long on only to find Carlos Brathwaite.

Maxwell was out for duck facing only three balls. Mishra's fourth wicket was the resilient Manan Vohra for 32 runs. Mishra was spot on with his leg-spin getting the ball to come into the batsmen, as Vohra failed to pick up the change in trajectory.
