West Indies Drop Samuels for England ODIs

Jamaica: Samuels was cleared to return to bowl in international cricket by the ICC last week but it was not enough to earn him an ODI recall – his last appearances coming in October before being dropped for their tri-series in Zimbabwe.

Experienced trio Benn, Charles and Narine are also missing from the squad for the three-match series next month despite featuring in Zimbabwe – West Indies failing to make the final after taking one win from their four matches.

There is a recall for opener Kieran Powell after nearly three years away, and he is joined by 20-year-old all-rounder Alzarri Joseph in Stuart Law's first squad.

Antigua's Sir Vivian Richards Stadium hosts the opening two matches with England, before a final match in Barbados on March 9.
