Mohali: Star-studded Air India Blue, featuring India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will look to start off on a winning note as they take on unheralded ITC in the opening Group D match of the inaugural BCCI Corporate Cricket tournament on Tuesday.
With the likes of Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Rudra Pratap Singh in their ranks, Air India Blue will look to dominate their opening tie against ITC which don't have any known face with international exposure.
Dhoni, Harbhajan and RP Singh along with other team mates straight away arrived here today after their strenuous training camp in Bangalore and this tournament will be an opportunity for the Team India players to fine-tune their game ahead of the Sri Lankan tour.
Apart from Dhoni, Air India 'Blue' has Mohammad Kaif, VVS Laxman and Rajat Bhatia with Pravin Amre as their coach.
However, weather will be key to the opening tie on Tuesday as the MET department has already forecasted rains in this part of the region.
"Downpour since morning has made the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) ground drenched forcing the cancellation of practice," PCA secretary GS Walia said.
The matches will be day-night affairs and 50-over a side.
