Australia v India, 3rd Test, Perth, 3rd day

Australia Win Series With Innings Win, Up 3-0

Perth: Australia won the third Test by an innings and 37 runs to go 3-0 up and win the series. Kohli was the last man out after a fighting 75 against Australia at WACA perth.

Fine show by Hilfenhaus (4-54) and Siddle (3-43) guided Australia to a crushing series win against India after visitors lost the 3rd Test by an innings & 37 runs.

India were 165 for 6 in 60 overs at lunch in their second innings with Virat Kohli (69*) and Vinay Kumar (6*) battling it out in the middle to avoid an innings defeat.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who came in after Rahul Dravid, lasted just 20 minutes before edging a Peter Siddle delivery to Ricky Ponting in the slips with the former Australia skipper taking a fine low catch. India lost their sixth wicket at the score of 148.

Paceman Ryan Harris clean bowled Rahul Dravid to give Australia crucial breakthrough against India on the third day of the third Test.

Dravid was once again undone by a full-length delivery that swung back after pitching. Dravid tried to nudge it away towards midwicket but missed it entirely as it went through the gate to hit the timber.

It was the fifth time in six innings in the series that the 39-year-old Dravid, known as "the Wall" for his strong defence, had been bowled.

Dravid, who started of well on Day 3, played a fighting knock of 47 runs that came off in 114 balls with the help of eight fours.

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli, who scored his third Test fifty, hit a fighting half-century to put up a fine resistance against a quality Australian attack. Kohli scored 50 off 92 balls with the help of six boundaries.

Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli, who resumed Indian second innings on Day 3, added crucial 84 runs for the fifth wicket to lead India's battle to save third Test against Australia.

Australia won the first test in Melbourne by 122 runs and the second in Sydney by an innings and 68 runs. The fourth test begins in Adelaide next week.

Needing 208 runs to make Australia bat again in this match, India were reduced to 51/4 before Dravid and Kohli held firm to help the visitors finish Day 2 on 88/4.

India's all-pace attack that was made to look club standard by a rampaging David Warner on Day 1, rediscovered its zest and bite to dismiss Australia for 369.

The gallant display by pacers, headlined by Umesh Yadav's maiden five-wicket haul, was however rendered all but useless by yet another spineless display by India's top order.
