South Africa v England, 2nd Twenty20, Centurion

England Fined For Slow Over-rate

Centurion: Alastair Cook, England's stand-in captain, has been fined 10% of his match fees while the rest of the team received a 5% cut on their earnings, for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second Twenty20 against South Africa in Centurion.

Match Referee Javagal Srinath imposed the fines on the England team after they were found to have bowled one over short of the requisite amount after time allowances were taken into consideration.

As per the ICC Code of Conduct guidelines, individual players are fined 5% of their match fee for each over that is bowled beyond the allotted time limit, while the captain is fined double that amount.

South Africa beat England by 84 runs to square the series at 1-1. The teams will now contest a five-match ODI series starting November 20 in Johannesburg.
