England Fined for Slow Over-rate in 2nd Ashes Test

London: England have been fined for a slow over-rate in the 115-run victory over Australia in the second Ashes Test.

The International Cricket Council on Wednesday fined captain Andrew Strauss 20 percent of his match fee while the rest of the team lost 10 percent.

Match referee Jeff Crowe said the hosts were two overs short of their target at the end of the match.

According to ICC rules, players are fined five per cent of their match fees and the captain double that amount for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

England leads the Ashes series 1-0 with three Tests remaining.
