England Team Arrives In Chennai With Full Strength

Chennai: The full-strength 16-member team led by Kevin Pietersen landed from the UAE, the first batch reached from Abu Dhabi followed by another from neighbouring Dubai within 20 minutes of each other. The contingent consists of 28 people, including support staff.

The team, which had left India on November 28 after abandoning the last two of the seven-match ODI series in the wake of the terror attacks, will play the first Test from Thursday at the M A Chidambaram stadium which replaced Mumbai as the venue. Next match scheduled to be held at Mohali.

The team's all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff, has said the decision to return for the two-Test series was taken by the team as a whole, and not just by the senior members. The squad left their Middle East training camp a day after receiving security assurances from the ECB's expert, Reg Dickason.
