Injured Muhammad Aamir Sent Back Home

Islamabad: The Pakistan team management in Australia has released young left-arm pacer Muhammad Aamir and sent him home after he developed a groin problem.

Aamir returned home late last night for treatment as the selectors and management want him to be fully fit ahead of Pakistan's busy international calendar this year.

"Aamir has been released by the team management who felt it would be better if he undergoes rehabilitation course in Lahore under the supervision of the PCB medical panel," a board official said.

The 17-year-old pacer had developed the problem after the second One-day international in Sydney. He had also missed the second Test in Sydney due to a similar problem.

"Aamir has a history of illness and physical fitness problems and the team management feels he needs to undergo an extensive rehabilitation and building course at the national academy to improve his fitness levels," the official stated.

The teenaged pacer has impressed everyone with his all-round abilities since making his debut in the Twenty20 World Cup last year in England.
