Post-2012 FTP to be Discussed in ICC Board Meeting on Oct 7-8

Johannesburg: The working draft of the ICC's post-2012 Future Tours Programme will be discussed at its Board meeting on October 7 and 8 after member nations gave their inputs to the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) in a meeting here.

The CEC, chaired by ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat, met in Johannesburg this week.

"With the current FTP due to conclude in May 2012, CEC continued to engage in developing a further draft of the FTP post-2012. This followed feedback received by ICC management from Members. This process is ongoing and includes a working draft to be presented to the next Board meeting," the ICC said in a statement.

The post-2012 FTP has been hit controversies with Pakistan alleging that it has not been given its due in the schedule.

The CEC also enhanced the scope of the Test working group which was looking at ways to and promote Test cricket. This group will now include all the full member chief executives and will "look at developing context for all three formats of the game at international level."

The CEC also agreed to further research on the proposed concept of day/night Test matches.

Among other things, the CEC appointed Justin Vaughan from New Zealand Cricket to sit on the ICC Cricket Committee while Nishantha Ranatunga (Sri Lanka Cricket) was appointed to serve the ICC Development Committee.

The CEC comprises the chief executives of the 10 Test-playing Members and three representatives from ICC Associate Members.
