Sri Lanka Opt to Bowl Against South Africa

Cape Town: Sri Lankan captain Tillakaratne Dilshan won the toss and chose to bowl in the series-deciding third Test against South Africa at Newlands on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka brought in fast bowler Dhammika Prasad for his first match of the tour to replace Dilhara Fernando, who is out with a sore knee. Batsman Lahiru Thirimanne was picked in place of opener Tharanga Paranavitana.

South Africa also made two changes after their 208-run loss in Durban levelled the series at 1-1. Seamer Vernon Philander returned from injury and opening batsman Alviro Petersen earned a recall in place of Ashwell Prince.

Petersen will open the batting alongside Graeme Smith, while Jacques Rudolph dropped down to Prince's place at No. 6 in a reshuffled Proteas batting order.

Sri Lanka are chasing a first-ever series win in South Africa after winning their first Test in the country in nine attempts last week.

All-rounder Jacques Kallis is playing his 150th Test for South Africa at his home ground in Cape Town.

The 36-year-old Kallis became the sixth player and first South African to reach the milestone after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid of India and Australians Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting and Allan Border.
