Warriors v Wayamba, CLT20 2010, Port Elizabeth

Warriors Seal an Easy Victory Over Wayamba

Port Elizabeth: Justin Kreusch and Mark Boucher played sensibly to steer Warriors to 7-wickets victory over Wayamba Elevens in the Champions League Twenty20 encounter.

Boucher leads the way ahead of Kreusch, acknowledging the crowd as the African dug-out gives high-fives to each other. A professional performance, first restricting Wayamba to 153 and then chasing it down with supreme ease.

Prince fell early in the chase, but all the other batsmen chipped in with useful contributions. Wayamba had issues with their batting, with just 2 batsmen going over 20, with Kulatunga top-scoring with 59. Unlike them, the Warriors did not have any half-centurion and Boucher top-scored with a quickfire cameo of 40 towards the end.

Earlier, Theron picked up 3 scalps during the Wayamba innings, while for the latter, the bowling went for a plenty with the only threat being Herath and Mendis with 1 wicket each. Jeevantha Kalutanga gets an award for the highest run score in the game - 59. Juan Rusty Theron gets the Man of the match award for his 3/23 in 4 overs.

A disappointed losing captain Mubara has no qualms on choosing to bat first and says that had they got 170, it might have been a different game. Admits that the last 5 overs were costly for his side, as they scored just 35 and lost 5 wickets. Hopes to come hard in their next game on Wednesday against Chennai.A smiling victorious skipper
