Yawar Saeed Steps Down as PCB Media Manager

Karachi: Pakistan's long serving team manager Yawar Saeed on Monday resigned from his post citing "pressing domestic commitments".

"I had informed the PCB Chairman, Ejaz Butt before leaving for South Africa for the Champions trophy that it would be my last assignment as manager and I stand by my decision," Yawar said.

The former first-class player said domestic commitments had forced him to take a decision.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my stint as manager as it is an honor managing the national team. But now I can't continue any longer and the Champions Trophy was my last assignment," he said.

The board had sent Shafqat Rana as associate manager with Yawar for the Champions Trophy and he is expected to take over as manager for future tournaments.

"The team I think has done and grown as a unit in the last few months and it has a great future," he said.
