Australia v West Indies 3rd Test, SCG, day 4

Fourth day also washed out in Sydney

Sydney: Day four abandoned without a ball bowled as rain continues to lash sodden Sydney on Wednesday.

The chances of a result in the third Test at the SCG have all but vanished, with day four abandoned without a ball being bowled because of more rain.

Near-constant showers hit Sydney on Tuesday, when play was abandoned without a ball being bowled, and Wednesday continued in similar fashion, with the heavy covers firmly in place throughout the morning.

Day two of the Test was also ruined because of rain, with only 11.2 overs of play possible.

The weather bureau is predicting showers will ease on day five.

The West Indies are 7-248 in their first innings of the match, with Nathan Lyon and James Pattinson both having snared two wickets.
