Rohit Fit for Irani Trophy and Champs League

Chennai: Discarded Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has been declared fit for both the Irani Cup and Champions League, to be held next month.

Rohit, who had suffered a shoulder injury during the Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai last month, underwent a series of fitness tests under physio Paul Close at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and his final assessment was conducted on Tuesday.

Rohit, who was dropped from the recently-concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka and ongoing Champions Trophy, represents Mumbai in the Irani Cup and Team Hyderabad in the Champions League. The Irani Cup and Champions League do offer an opportunity to Rohit to get back into national reckoning.
