Bangladesh struggle in India Warm-up

Hyderabad: India A got to stumps at 91 for 1 after Bangladesh declared at 224 for 8 on Day One of the two-day warm-up match at Hyderabad on Sunday.

India A, as a result, trail Bangladesh by 133 runs with 9 wickets in hand.

Skipper Abhinav Mukund was the only wicket to fall for India A. He was caught at slip off Subashis Roy for 16. Shreyas Iyer and Ranji Trophy 2016-17 top-scorer Priyank Panchal are the two unbeaten batsmen with scores of 29 and 40 respectively. They have added exactly 50 for the second wicket so far.

Earlier, fifties from Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim had ensured Bangladesh reached 224 for 8.

For India A, Aniket Choudhary was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 4 for 26.

The first session of the day belonged to India A, when they reduced Bangladesh to 92 for 4. Sarkar scored 52 out of those. However, Bangladesh fought back well in the second session.

Sabbir Rahman and Mushfiqur added 71 for the sixth wicket, which steadied Bangladesh. Mushfiqur was eventually dismissed after scoring a crucial 58.  Earlier, Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to bat first.
