Holland to Play South Africa in ODI

The Hague: The Netherlands are to play South Africa in a one-day international before this year's Champions Trophy, the Royal Dutch Cricket Association announced on Wednesday.

The game on May 31 at Amstelveen is part of the Proteas' preparations for the eight-team competition in England and Wales, which starts on June 6.

Royal Dutch Cricket Association chief executive Richard Cox was quoted as saying on the International Cricket Council website that the fixture was a "real coup" and would give the game a boost in the Netherlands.

Cricket South Africa acting head Jacques Faul added: "We well remember the Netherlands' famous victory over England at the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 and we are looking forward to a highly competitive game of cricket."

South Africa won the inaugural Champions Trophy in Bangladesh in 1998. The last trophy was held in South Africa in 2009, which was won by Australia.
