Masakadza Star in Zimbabwe Tense Win

Bulawayo: Hamilton Masakadza scored a fine half-century while Panyangara picked up three wickets to help Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by 6 runs.

At one stage, Bangladesh were cruising with Shakib and Shamshur on a rampage. But one over from Utseya changed it all and it all went downhill from there.

They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, Mushfiqur had almost carried them home but he was caught off the first ball of the final over and it was all over for the visitors.

Hamilton Masakadza is the Man of the match

Earlier, Masakadza hit 59 from 48 balls and was well supported by captain Brendan Taylor before Malcolm Waller struck a six off the final ball of the innings to take Zimbabwe to 168 for five.

Zimbabwe made a poor start when Vusi Sibanda, who hit a matchwinning century in Wednesday's third one-day international, was out to his first ball.

However, Taylor came in at first drop and found the boundary regularly in a 30-ball innings that formed the backbone of a 74-run stand with Masakadza.

When Taylor was caught at long-off for 40, Masakadza stepped up the pace and went to his fifty in 40 deliveries.

A strong finish was still required after Masakadza became Shakib Al Hasan's second victim of the afternoon, and Waller provided it as he hit four boundaries to finish unbeaten on 26 from just 14 balls.

Earlier, Zimbabwe have won the toss and they are batting first in first.
