Shakib Star in Bangladesh Draw Series

Bulawayo: Bangladesh drew level the 2-match T20I series with a convincing 34 run win against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday.

Shakib Al Hasan was the man of the match and man of the series.

Chasing 169, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never really looked in control of the game. Shakib bowled a remarkable spell, he picked up Taylor and Shingi and then cleaned up the tail as well.

Spinners did the job for the visitors to reduce Zimbabwe to 134 for 9.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan was again at the heart of the Bangladeshi innings after the tourists won the toss and opted to bat, following up his 65 on Saturday with 40 from 28 balls.

Shakib shared in an 82-run stand for the second wicket with Tamim Iqbal, who finally found some form in scoring 43 from 30 deliveries.

However Bangladesh were unable to build on the strong foundation provided by the pair, as they went from 86 for one in the ninth over to a par score.

Off spinner Prosper Utseya was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe, opening from the City End and finishing with figures of 2 for 15 from his four overs.

Bangladesh have won the toss and they opted to bat first. Couple of changes in Zimbabwe squad - Shingi Masakadza and shangwe come in, Chatara and Mutombodzi are out. Mutombodzi split his finger yesterday.

Bangladesh also made two changes - Mominul Haque and Robiul Islam. Out - Ziaur Rahman and Sajidul Islam
