Hong Kong & Netherlands Qualify for World T20

Abu Dhabi: Hong Kong and the Netherlands notched easy victories in the qualifiers on Thursday to book the last two places in next year's World Twenty20.

Ireland, Afghanistan, Nepal and United Arab Emirates have already qualified for the 2015 event in Bangladesh in which 16 teams will participate.

Hong Kong defeated Papua New Guinea by 29 runs at Abu Dhabi in the playoffs for its maiden appearance in the World Twenty20.

Babar Hayat made 48 in Hong Kong's total of 137-9, while PNG was bowled out for 108 in 19.1 overs with 41-year-old leftarm spinner Munir Dar taking 3-26.

Netherlands chased down the 148-run target against Scotland in 17.5 overs with wicketkeeper Wesley Barresi scoring an unbeaten 75 off 47 balls with 8 fours and a six.
