Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, 2nd ODI, Chittagong

Bangladesh Keeps Momentum After Breaking Losing Streak

Chittagong: High on the Shakib Al Hasan-inspired win in Thursday's five-ODI opener against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh look to continue their dominance against their African opponents in the second game of the series at Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday.

Zimbabwe, who lost the Test series 3-0, allowed Bangladesh to score 281 from a precarious 70 for 4 with Shakib scoring 101 and returning 4 for 41 with the ball later, and becoming the 12th player in ODI history to achieve the feat of a hundred and four wickets in a match.

Bangladesh's win in the first game came after 13 defeats, and this series, against a very weak Zimbabwean team, is their golden chance to make up for a string of poor ODI performances that began with the Asia Cup earlier this year.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, would be desperate to beat the home side for the first time on this tour. Every match of the series is important for both teams as their next assignment will be the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand early next year, and confidence is what both need ahead of the quadrennial event.
