Allround Duminy Guides Delhi in Thriller Win

Visakhapatnam: Delhi Daredevils beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs in another exciting game in the Indian Premier League 2015 match no. 13 at Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

With seven needed off two, Karn Sharma smashed it over cover. It was almost going for a six, but Mayank Agarwal’s athleticism helped DD as he tipped the ball back in play. Off the last ball, Karn found the man in the deep to hand DD a win.

JP Duminy was the star of the day as he scored a fifty as DD batted first and then took four important wickets to dent SRH’s run-chase. With this, DD have won their second game in the IPL 2015.

Chasing 168 to win, SRH began solidly with Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner holding fort, they managed to bring up the fifty inside the six overs. Duminy then brought himself on and turned it for DD.

Dhawan missed one from Duminy and was bowled; Warner lobbed one back off the top-edge.

KL Rahul and Ravi Bopara then batted well. Rahul’s approach was heartening for he took on the bowling and smashed a couple of sixes.

Earlier, Shreyas Iyer and JP Duminy, they managed to score 167 in their 20 overs. Iyer was eye-catching for he played some magnificent strokes during his innings of 60 off 40 balls. He hits five sixes, with leg-spinner Karn Sharma bearing the brunt of his aggression.

Coming in at No. 3, Duminy also batted extremely well. At one time, he was eclipsed by Iyer but then took charge once the youngster was dismissed. At the other end, Dale Steyn bowled very well on his return, taking a wicket and conceding only 27 runs.

SRH managed to stem DD as they had Duminy and Yuvraj Singh off consecutive deliveries. At one stage, they looked good to score 180, but had to be content with 167 with Kedar Jadhav and Angelo Mathews managing  a couple of big hits in the end.

Earlier, Delhi Daredevils have won the toss and opted to bat.

DD unchanged while for SRH Dale Steyn in for Trent Boult.
