Hazlewood ruled out of Sri Lanka Tests due to back injury

Melbourne: Josh Hazlewood, the Australia pacer, has been ruled out of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka with a back injury. Jhye Richardson, 22, takes his place in the 13-member squad.

Hazlewood, who fills in as the joint bad habit commander of the Test group, was refreshed for the one-day universal arrangement against India, which Australia lost 2-1. He had played through the Test arrangement, knocking down some pins 74.1 overs over the four recreations.

He last had back damage in 2010, which had ruled him out of the away Test arrangement against India, and the Cricket Australia physiotherapist said he presently had a back issue in a similar region.

With six wickets in three amusements, Richardson was powerful in the ODI arrangement against India. The right-arm pacer has included in seven ODIs and the same number of Twenty20 Internationals for Australia, yet will be yet to get his Baggy Green.

Australia and Sri Lanka play two Tests in Brisbane and Canberra from 24 January and 1 February respectively.
