Malinga, Hardik Setup Easy Victory as RCB Slump to Seventh

Mumbai Indians 172 for 5 (De Kock 40, Hardik 37*, Moeen 2-18, Chahal 2-27) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 171 for 7 (De Villiers 75, Moeen 50, Malinga 4-31) by five wickets

Mumbai: Moeen Ali produced an all-round show for the ages but it wasn't enough as important contributions through the top-order followed by a late onslaught from Hardik Pandya helped Mumbai Indians record a crucial five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.

Out to chase 172, Mumbai Indians got off to a fantastic start, courtesy Quinton de Kock and skipper Rohit Sharma.

Moeen Ali dismissed both of them in the same over.

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed by Chahal. Siraj dismissed Krunal Pandya. Hardik Pandya smashed 37 runs in 16 balls to take his side to a win.

Coming out to bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a poor start.

Skipper Virat Kohli edged a delivery to the keeper Quinton de Kock off Jason Behrendorff.

AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali scored fifties each after Parthiv Patel was dismissed.

Ali and Stoinis were dismissed in quick succession. De Villiers and Akshdeep Singh were dismissed in the final over. RCB reached 171/7 in 20 overs.
