Mumbai: The Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was expected to be a close contest but it turned out to be a one-sided affair. Mumbai Indians registered an impressive and easy nine-wicket victory after chasing paltry 134 at the Wankhede Stadium.

After Mumbai Indians’ bowlers did a fabulous job, batsmen complimented with a good show.

With this defeat, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are out of IPL 2019 and it is Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who qualify for the next round.

For Mumbai Indians, skipper Rohit Sharma finished unbeaten on 55 off just 48 balls along with him Suryakumar Yadav also remained unbeaten on 46 off just 27 balls.

Quinton de Kock was the only wicket MI lost and he scored 30 off 23 balls.

Rohit Sharma has now scored 824 runs against KKR, the third-most by a batsman against a team in IPL.

KKR, 56, now have taken the fewest wickets by a team in an IPL season.

KKR have now lost eight matches out if nine at the Wankhede Stadium.

SRH becomes first team to qualify for IPL playoffs with just 12 points.

Earlier bowling first, MI restricted KKR to 133 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.

Lasith Malinga took three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya chipped in with two wickets each.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will now face Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 1 while Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will meet in the Eliminator.
