Johannesburg: South Africa have named their ODI and T20I squads for the limited-overs series against West Indies that follows the ongoing Test series with a new skipper set to take charge in the shortest format.
28-year-old Aiden Markram will take over as the T20I skipper from Temba Bavuma, who had stepped down from the role last month.
Markram, who led the South Africa U19 team to a title win at the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup in 2014, also recently tasted a title win as skipper at the SA 20 with Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Director of Cricket Enoch Nkwe congratulated Marrkam on his appointment.
Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada have been rested from the ODI squad which has four new players in it. Gerald Coetzee, who recently made his Test debut, Ryan Rickelton, Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs, who is yet to play ODIs, make an entry to the squad.
