Dhaka: The second limited-overs international between Bangladesh and New Zealand has been abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain.

Match referee Javagal Srinath called off Friday's match in Dhaka after umpires declared the Shere-e-Bangla National Stadium unfit for play.

Heavy rains have pounded Bangladesh since Thursday.

Bangladesh won the rain-shortened first match on Tuesday by nine runs.
