Lee, Marsh Join Kings XI Punjab Camp

Chandigarh: The yorkers may not be fracturing toes anymore, but the man hurling the cherry at 150-kph can still frighten the most accomplished of batsmen.

Kings XI Punjab, who snapped their three-match losing streak with a thrilling Super Over victory over Chennai Super Kings on Sunday night, got another boost on Monday with Aussie speedster Brett Lee and opener Shaun Marsh - the highest scorer for Kings in IPL 1 - joining the side, 48 hours before they take on Rajasthan Royals at home on Wednesday.

Just a day before Kings XI Punjab began their campaign in IPL 3, Lee left Chandigarh with an elbow niggle that has ruled him out of action since last December.

Kings lost their opening match against Delhi Daredevils and failed miserably in the next two games - against Bangalore Royal Challengers and Deccan Chargers.

"Lee went to Sydney to get an injection shot on his injured elbow. He is fit and raring to go. He has obtained necessary clearance from Cricket Australia and the final call on whether he will play on Wednesday will be taken on the eve of the match," said Col Arvinder Singh, senior vice-president (cricket operations), Kings XI Punjab.
