Piyush Chawla Sizzles With Bat in Tied Final

Nagpur: After one-sided results so far in the tournament, the final of the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy dished out one hell of a humdinger.

After a slugfest that lasted till the last ball of the 100th over, both the teams - India Green and Red - shared the honour and trophy.

The final was a tale of two players - Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla - from the rival camps. It was Bhajji who first guided India Green to a fighting total with a responsible 49 and then with three wickets almost took his side to victory.

But Piyush Chawla (92;82b;8x4;2x6) pushed for victory for India Red at the other end.

With 17 required off the last over, Piyush struck one six and a four as he scored 15 runs from five balls. With two runs needed from the last ball, left-arm seamer Samad Fallah bowled a wide as Chawla got out trying to steal a single ending the match in a tie.

Harbhajan Singh seemed to save his best for the final day. The Turbanator's all-round show almost took India Green to victory.

It was a day when almost everything clicked for Harbhajan. His unbeaten 49 ensured India Green a total from where they could put up a fight. His three key wickets brought them into the game.

His captaincy was spot on. After making all the right moves, Harbhajan faced resistance from where he least expected as Chawla gate crashed Bhajji's well-orchestrated show
